February 8th Bridges
Bridges are…well, bridges, of course. Constructed creatures made of iron, stone, and that span a barrier. But bridges are fallen trees and covered pathways to other ideas, other peoples, other ways of being, too. We will hear a bit of what we see in a sermon dedicated to them.
Coffee hour when we share food and fellowship after service is a community coffee hour. All who attend are asked to bring a little something to share. "Finger foods" are best.
Celebration of Life - Service for Larry Fogg
On Saturday morning, February 7th at 11 am, All Souls will honor and memorialize one of its beloved own. Larry Fogg, who leaves behind Jane and four children, will be more than sorely missed. Larry is among a handful of present members who remember the All Souls of more than four decades ago. The loss we all feel has stopped us in our tracks. Please join us in honoring a legend.
There will be a reception catered by the family to follow in All Souls’ own Parish Hall. Family ask that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to All Souls Church in Larry's memory.
Please share this information with those who may not have received word. Thank you.

Twisted Pine is a Boston based five-piece bluegrass band whose members all share a common love for the traditional music of Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, Jimmy Martin, and the Stanley Brothers. The band is composed of Adam Moore on bass and vocals, Kathleen Parks on fiddle and vocals, Rachel Sumner on guitar and vocals, Dan Bui on mandolin, and Ricky Mier on 5-string banjo. On any given night a Twisted Pine show is a wild, unpredictable affair delivering powerful vocals, foot-stomping rhythms, and hot instrumental pickin'.
LISTEN to Twisted Pine.

Here is a link to the UUA with some material for your review and study
In addition, the SAEC has purchased a few copies of a book by Stephen Caliendo called “Inequality in America: Race, Poverty, and Fulfilling Democracy's Promise”. Even reading a few chapters in this book is enlightening. See Rev. Steve if you wish to borrow a copy for a brief time. Please join us. We are really interested in your voice.
Book Group Thursday February 26 7:30 pm
We will meet in our "book corner" in the parish hall.
The book we will read is Inequality in America: Race, Poverty, and Fulfilling Deomcracy's Promise by Stephen Caliendo. This is an opportunity to delve into the discussion about inequality in America that will be introduced by the Social Action Committee at the Sunday service on Feb. 22. Our book group discussion will help shape the ASC response to the UUA on this pressing issue.
No one is expected to read all of this "textbook." The idea is to read the opening chapter and the final chapter, and also pick another chapter or two that interest you deeply. The chapter topics are: income and wealth; housing; education; crime and employment; health; gender; and affirmative action.
Please join us for this important discussion!
