Our services and practices are intentionally designed to be accessible, including assistive listening devices, large print orders of service, and projected lyrics and images.
Practices such as sharing details about our appearance, using a roving microphone, stating our pronouns, and mentioning assisted listening devices are not mere formalities. They are intentional acts rooted in our UU principles, designed to ensure that everyone feels seen, heard, and valued, regardless of their individual needs, abilities, gender expression, or communication styles. These practices acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful diversity within our community.
There are two designated spaces in our parking lot behind the church on Charles Street.
Enter through the ramp door on Charles Street. The ADA compliant access ramp was recently refurbished.
There are double doors to enter the church at the ramp entrance. These are often propped open before Sunday service or event. If you arrive and find the doors closed or need assistance, please ring the doorbell located next to the doors. We are happy to assist you. The church number is 781-843-1388.
The entrance, sanctuary and the parish hall, where we hold our coffee hour following service, are all on one level and are wheelchair/walker accessible.
The ADA compliant restroom is up the ramp in the parish hall. It is a single use, gender-neutral restroom with baby changing station.
Services are held on Sundays at 10:30 am in the Sanctuary, followed by an informal coffee. Our Food for the Soul Potluck Brunches, usually on the first Sunday of the month, are held in our Parish Hall. We space our tables in the hall to allow for maneuverability. If you need more room or encounter an obstruction, please speak up so we can remedy the situation.
Assistive listening devices and large print orders of service are available in the sanctuary. Images and song lyrics are shown on a large screen at the front of the church. During joys and concerns, we can bring a microphone to persons in the sanctuary.
