As Unitarian Universalists, we covenant to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of all persons. As we engage in an ongoing search for truth and meaning. Whoever you are, whomever you love, however you inhabit your body, and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome into the life of this church.
We covenant to create a caring, affirming, and inclusive community that invites us to become our best selves, and to serve the wider community and the world.
We Welcome Visitors
Visitors and Newcomers are always welcome at All Souls. Our building is accessible and we have two single-stall, gender neutral restrooms, one of which is ADA compliant, with a baby changing station. We have assistive listening devices for use during service.
Many of our newcomers have visited several congregations looking for a community, fellowship, and a place to explore their spirituality. We are proud to be a welcoming congregation. We’re glad you’re thinking of visiting us!
Dress at our services is informal. People often feel comfortable in business casual or more casual attire, including jeans or shorts. The goal is to be comfortable.
Location We are located at 196 Elm Street (corner of Elm and Church Streets) in Braintree, Massachusetts. Parking is available on Charles Street and in the church parking lot off Charles Street. Minutes from Route 3, I-93 and I-95.
Child Dedications Rather than holding baptisms or christenings, Unitarian Universalist congregations have child dedication ceremonies for infants and children. Child dedication ceremonies are usually crafted by the parent and the minister, working closely together. Many will include the following elements:
A blessing for the new life of the child
An expression of the parent or parents’ hopes for the child
A promise by the congregation to support and nurture the child
If you are interested in having your child dedicated, please contact us. See Calendar & Events for activities that you may be interested in. We have ongoing group meetups you are welcome to participate in.
Updates In Your Mailbox! <- Sign Up Much of the communication with ASC's members and our friends is handled through weekly email briefs and our monthly newsletter, The Chimes. (We never share email addresses with third parties.) There is also a wealth of printed information available in the front entryway and in the parish hall. We print and mail monthly newsletters to those without internet access or who prefer to read on paper. Please let the office know if you would like to receive our monthly news by postal mail.
