Food for the Soul Potluck Brunch

The theme for this Food for the Soul Potluck Brunch is Deep Listening

Are you ready to embark on a journey of deeper connection and understanding?
We invite you to join us for a Unitarian Universalist discussion on Deep Listening. This exploration will delve into the art and science of truly hearing others, beyond the surface level of words.
Together, we'll explore:
  • The power of attentive listening in fostering empathy and connection
  • Techniques to overcome distractions and fully engage in conversations
  • The role of deep listening in creating inclusive and supportive communities
Whether you're a seasoned listener or seeking to improve your communication skills, this discussion offers a valuable opportunity for growth and reflection.

We begin with a welcome and a chalice lighting, after which all are invited to join together to enjoy food and fellowship. Please bring something to eat with more to share. An ingredient list is helpful in case of allergies.

A DICKENS FESTIVAL PLANNING MEETING will follow this brunch.

Travel Disruption to Church Access
Dear Friends,
We wanted to give you a heads up that there may be some travel disruption if you're planning to visit the church in the upcoming days. You may have already noticed some detours in the area.
The reason for this disruption is road work being carried out on Elm Street. Here are the details:
  •  (6/6 - 6/7): Milling work will be taking place.
  • Saturday (6/8): Asphalt laying is scheduled.
The Braintree DPW has provided the following information:
  • The asphalt work will start early, aiming to finish by 2:00 pm.
  • Work will commence from the other end of Elm Street and progress towards our direction, reaching Washington Street.
  • Elm Street will be closed to traffic during this time.
However, rest assured, you'll still be able to access the church through alternative routes in the neighborhood. Here are a couple of options:
  1. Continue North on Washington Street, bear right at the traffic lights (still Washington Street). Turn right on Cedar Street, then right on Park Street, and left on Charles Street. All Souls will be on the right.
  2. Continue North on Washington Street, turn right at Church Street (near CVS). Turn left on School Street, right on Cedar, right on Park Street, and left on Charles Street. All Souls will be on the right.
Detour signs will be in place, and officers will be on duty to assist travelers in finding their way to the church.
Please note: If there's heavy rain, the work will be postponed. However, if it's just a drizzle, the work will continue as planned.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out.

Shedding Discard for Connection
On zoom and at ASC
Coping with rejection in beloved community
Life is partly made up of discarded things and discarded people and we can try to find beauty in this complicated tapestry of life while healing through connection. Our connections with each other will help us survive the future as a community, a country and as a species.
