REMINDER
Please Submit Annual Reports by May 5 Annual reports are due on Sunday, May 5, from those in leadership or those who chair groups and committees at All Souls Church. Please email them to the church office at [email protected]. For reference, a copy of last year’s annual report can be viewed on the member page of the website or one can be obtained by emailing the church office.

 The old, light colored scratched piano with the sticky keys is no longer in the Parish hall. It has been replaced by a much better looking and better sounding one that for years belonged to Rick Anderson that has been donated to the church by Don Swanson. We look forward to hearing Jacob perform on this piano at upcoming Food for the Soul services. The expenses associated with this improvement totaled $750. This covered the moving cost of getting the piano to All Souls, the moving cost of getting the old piano out of All Souls, and the tuning cost. Before any request was made for the funding of these special expenses, three people have already stepped up with offers of donations. Anyone else who would like to be part of this one time project funding should send or give their contribution to our treasurer, Mary Mitchell. Your donations will be gratefully received: church funds will cover any shortfall between the final donation total and the expense total. Please note that Michael Domina’s watercolor has been hung in the Parish hall. Potluck supper and thinking cap game. It’s time to gather with friends, enjoy delicious, food, and flex those mental muscles Saturday, April 13 at 6:30 PM in the parish hall at AllSouls Braintree. Accessible through ramp door on Charles Street. Bring your favorite dish to share and get ready for an evening of culinary delight, followed by a brain teasing game that will Challenge your wits. April 11 - Format – Music – Judy will join us today to present “Classical Melodies that Inspired Popular Songs” Topic and format suggestions from attendees are encouraged; we welcome new attendees who would like to forge new connections or renew old ones! Thursdays at 3:30 pm Each weekly meeting incorporates equal time for open conversation and a set format that we hope will invite discussion. Our March gatherings began with a Ted Talk presented by filmmaker Karen Bass, featuring astonishing nature footage that she shot for the BBC and National Geographic. St. Patrick’s Day was the inspiration for a taste of traditional Irish music, with videos of The Clancy Brothers, The Chieftains, and Sinéad O’Connor. On the third Thursday, we viewed a 2015 recording of poet, activist, and feminist Robin Morgan reading four moving poems that were windows into her experience with aging as well as with Parkinson’s Disease. The fourth week featured the reading of a timely article of interest. Each month the selection of topics happens somewhat organically, and every week is different! April 4 – Format – Ted Talk Topic and format suggestions from attendees are encouraged; we welcome new attendees who would like to forge new connections or renew old ones! |
