Thursdays at 3:30 pm Each weekly meeting incorporates equal time for open conversation and a set format that we hope will invite discussion. Our March gatherings began with a Ted Talk presented by filmmaker Karen Bass, featuring astonishing nature footage that she shot for the BBC and National Geographic. St. Patrick’s Day was the inspiration for a taste of traditional Irish music, with videos of The Clancy Brothers, The Chieftains, and Sinéad O’Connor. On the third Thursday, we viewed a 2015 recording of poet, activist, and feminist Robin Morgan reading four moving poems that were windows into her experience with aging as well as with Parkinson’s Disease. The fourth week featured the reading of a timely article of interest. Each month the selection of topics happens somewhat organically, and every week is different! April 4 – Format – Ted Talk Topic and format suggestions from attendees are encouraged; we welcome new attendees who would like to forge new connections or renew old ones! Coffee Hour
September through June After Sunday service is coffee hour. A time to socialize and connect with one another online or in person in the parish hall as we share food and fellowship. We need volunteers to keep the ministry of coffee hour alive so be sure to bring a snack to share if you can or help by making coffee, or with setup/cleanup. Sunday Service
March 10 at 10:30 am Affirming Worth, Encouraging Growth Guest Minister Rev Tess Baumberger What (And How Much) Do We Really Need? Join us in exploring this topic as we extend a warm welcome to our Guest Minister, Rev Baumberger, to All Souls. Rev. Tess Baumberger has served congregations in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and is currently the 3/4 time minister at the First Universalist Church of Essex. She has also served as a chaplain in hospitals and for hospice. She is a poet with several pieces published on the UUA worship web. You can also find her work on her website rev-tess.com And … Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour! Check those smoke detectors, too. Food for the Soul Potluck Brunch We begin with a welcome and a chalice lighting, after which we enjoy food and fellowship. Please bring a dish to share; an ingredient list is helpful in case of allergies. This is a special lay-led service for connection, reflection, and inspiration designed to give us a chance to reflect individually, to know our fellow travelers on life’s journey, and to let ourselves be known. Saturday, February 16 at 6 pm. Come in from the cold and share the warmth of a welcoming community by joining us for a Game Night potluck !
